Dr Oscar Onyebuchi-Iwudibia


Dr Oscar is the lead physician who has many years of experience in family medicine from the UK prior his recent relocation to Canada where he now calls home. He also has experience in Emergency Medicine. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Nigeria, and then worked in the UK in various specialties before doing his family medicine training and becoming a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) in the UK. Additionally he has earned an MSc in Public Health and Partnership in Care from Swansea University in the UK with distinction and a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Research, Education and Leadership from Cambridge University, UK. He has held various leadership positions including being the clinical lead for NHS 111/ Out of Hours GP for Cambridge & Peterborough, UK for 3 years and is passionate about Quality Improvement Projects which aim to improve patient’s care. He also enjoys teaching and has been a clinical supervisor for junior medical colleagues for many years and a recent member of faculty of family medicine at McMaster University. Above all, he is known to be very approachable and friendly.

Dr Nathaniel Olude


Dr Olude has been a family physician for 11 years. He qualified as a medical doctor in 1999 from the University of Lagos, Nigeria and has a special interest in Urology. He worked in multiple specialties ranging from surgery to acute medicine in the United Kingdom, and then completed family medicine training in the UK (2013). He is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) in the UK. He is passionate about mental health wellbeing and has special interests in Quality Improvement, Adult and Child Mental Health, and Neurodiversity. He has been the lead family physician in his UK practice for many years, shaping the way the teams provide care and offering choices for patients in the community. He joins Phoenix Medical Clinic from the 3rd of June 2024 with a wealth of knowledge and clinical experience. He would also be accepting new patients!

Dr Samuel Chizia Onuekwa


Dr Onuekwa is a family physician who has over a decade of experience as a medical doctor and as a family physician in the UK before his relocation to Canada. His vast clinical experience as a doctor covers several years of working as a medical practitioner both in public and private medical practice, and ultimately as a Family Physician for which he has built a fulfilling career. He obtained his Medical Degree from the University of Port Harcourt, then went further to earn a Master of Public Health with Distinction from the University of Wolverhampton, UK before completing his Residency Training in the United Kingdom and awarded Member Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP). He has worked in various leadership roles successfully and participated in various published research papers that focuses on optimising resources in health management to ensure better patient outcome from health care providers. He is diligent in his duties, detailed in his patient interactions and management, friendly, approachable and most importantly, focuses on patient-centered management. The clinic is excited that he would be joining us on the 7th of May 2024 and would be accepting new patients.

Dr Gabriel Ugamah


Dr Gabriel Ugamah is a vastly experienced family physician from the United Kingdom with special interest in Urology and Palliative medicine. He completed his medical education (MBBS) in Nigeria before going on to complete a Masters in Public Health at Anglian Ruskin University, England. With his passion for clinical medicine, he went on to undertake a Family Medicine residency and was awarded Member Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) 2016. Prior to relocation, Dr Ugamah worked across several specialties including geriatric medicine, psychiatry and is a key member of the community urology team. He is passionate about improving outcomes for patients and their families by working in partnership with them. He is friendly and approachable, and joins Phoenix Medical Clinic on the 7th of May 2024 and currently welcoming new patients.

Cherissa Matthews


Cherissa is an experienced healthcare professional who provides high-level of care to patients. She has worked in various capacities in the community over the years including as a Personal Support Worker before completing her nursing qualification. She is known for her compassionate care with good critical thinking and problem-solving skills. She has a keen interest in aspects of diabetes mellitus, elderly care among others. She provides a variety of medical services including vaccinations, wound care, PAP smear as well as managing minor ailments under the medical directive of the physician.

The clinic is happy to announce with Cherissa consent that she recently gave birth and presently on maternity leave. She plans to resume work around September 2024.

⁠Jane Opara


Jane is a Clinical Assistant to Dr Oscar. She has many years of experience providing exceptional healthcare. She has worked in several clinics in the United States, Caribbean and in Nigeria prior to relocating to Canada. She obtained her medical degree from Windsor University College of Medicine, St. Kitts in 2021. She went on to take some of the USA medical exams such as USMLE part 1 prior to relocating to Canada. She is keen to do her postgraduate training in Canada and has completed the MCCQE1 exams. She has also completed some of the basic resuscitation course such as CPR with the Canadian Red Cross society. She hopes to start her medical postgraduate training by mid-2025 in family medicine but in the interim, she would be assisting Dr Oscar and other physicians in the clinic in a myriad of medical services including pap smears, wound care, hypertension, diabetes management and follow up, all under the physician’s medical directive. She is well liked by patients for her compassionate approach to patient care.

Neha Rana


Neha Rana is the clinic manager and brings a lot of experience in healthcare management with her. She has a BSc in genetics, MBA in Healthcare Administration and a postgraduate certificate in Operation Management. She is passionate about ensuring patients receive good healthcare experience and therefore, keen to ensure that the clinic services are delivered seamlessly while being friendly and open to feedback or objective criticism from patients.
